Description

Up for offering today is a very unique 1978 Chevrolet G30 Santana Class B Camper Van. We call this one the 'Lil Home Edition'. First, let's talk about the van itself. It has 91,000 miles on it, 5.7L 350CI V8, turbo 400 Auto Trans, power steering, brakes, tilt wheel, a Radio with new speakers, and good ole crank windows and manual locks. Not a very many fancy amenities but it is what you got back in 1978. Check out the You Tube VIdeo: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oy30_g2HqjI The Coach is a Santana 170 that originally came with a full fiberglass top. Well that blew off in transport so we came up with the masterpiece that you see here today. The top is all brand new construction inside and out. Metal roof, fully insulated, all new LED lights, Air conditioner in the rear, and lots of room inside. There are 2 new vent fans in the ceiling and of course a flower box in the front, a must have. The jacknife couch folds out for sleeping for a tight 2, and the top bunk pulls out into a double bed. There is a new propane furnace and thermostat installed, new RV toilet in the back, no shower. The kitchen has a sink, 2 burner stove and a 12V refrigerator. Along with a new top inside and out it also has new flooring including front carpeting, seat covers, front door panels, new table, curtains and other aesthetic and functional touches. Other new RV items include a new deep cell battery, water pump and a propane regulator. The body is very solid and rust free underneath. There are some imperfections in the paint here and there but overall it looks great with the original paint that we matched with the top install. Tons of new mechanical parts as well including full tune up, rebuilt carb, fluilds, filters, new radiator, hoses, belts, brakes, starter, and other things that I can't remember off hand. The tires are recent, the spare is brand new, and it also has newer heavy duty RV Shocks installed. This ole Chevy runs strong and drives great! Please see the you tube video where you can come along for a test drive. It is incredibly stable going down the highway, even with the new Lil House addition. No it is not aerodynamic, but it is no different than millions of box trucks and a lot of other RV's that have been on the road for years. Also since there is no overdrive trans, it has a 60 to 65 MPH highway cruising speed, so you won't be doing 75-80 MPH with this unit. Besides with how cool it looks, who cares about slipping through the wind while driving a box? Please let me know if you have any questions as I am sure I am forgetting some things. We have done a ton of work on this unit and we think it turned out pretty Cool! It will be the only one like it in the campground for sure!
